Thermal imaging can confirm the presence of pain by objectively detecting the effect and intensity of local inflammation. Any part of the body can be imaged in this way such as face, joints, back, abdomen, etc. It can also be used to determine if the pain itself is coming from the source of complaint or referred from elsewhere.
